I learned to write html using notepad and a website called htmlgoodies. The website I built was called acrossafrica.co.za and was a static site and it was a business that belonged to me. within two to three weeks I was getting calls from Belgium for safaris into the Kruger national park. Later I started working on Honeysuckle Holidays static website for SEO and listings with related enterprise sites. Circa 1999

OBIA, Informatica

I learned to implement Oracle business intelligence systems on Oracle e-business suite ERP source. My first foray into using virtual machines and vmware, installation, configuration and POC. First introduction to Informatica which is a fantastic tool. The pre built warehouse used kimble methodology and had many subject areas ready built in the reporting tool as well as the etl adapters. The etl job was run by the Data administration console aka DAC. I became really familiar with this software stack and was able to deploy it rather quickly as well as trouble shoot existing implementations.

Siebel CRM

After completing the Siebel Core Consultant course at Oracle University I started work as on the siebel implementation at Internet Solutions, a division of Dimension Data, in Johannesburg. I was very junior on this project working on mostly data cleaning of users and maintaining a spreadsheet of instance configuration for the final go live migration. This was a successful project and Internet solutions continued to use it for many years. The project manager was Chris Turner and the main technical guru was John Green.
